Where is the placenta?

Where is the placenta in this sono? Is it on the left near the baby's head? From what I have read you look for the 'bright' spot but it seems the whole bottom is brighter except for the tiny area to the left. Am I correct?

It looks like this. Don't worry about not seeing it in your pic. I'm sure your doctor checked for it. Mine only appeared in a few pics

There is no placenta attached at this point. That happens around 10-12 weeks. Right now, your baby is being fed by a yolk sac that looks like a circle on ultrasounds.

Interesting! Thank you all! Appreciate it. This was 9w4d so i thought for sure it would be somewhere 🤔 I wasn't as curious with my 1st but now I want to know everything in this pregnancy 👍🏼

You won't see it probably because they are focusing on the baby. It's early yet and it could likely be behind baby in this angle. At your next u/s just ask and they can easily focus on the placenta for you which they will do later on to check the blood flow and such.
