I'm trying to get my son to sleep around the same time every night now but I don't think that will really work until his naps follow more of a schedule..

We usually start bath and bedtime routine around 6:30 and she falls asleep around 7. She's 4.5 months and sleeps 11-12 hours every night. Naps are tougher - 4 naps per day, but only 30 min long.

Jenna's bedtime is 10 pm. Sometimes it's a bit earlier if she's super tired. I don't let her nap past 7 pm so she will be tired for bedtime.

Being super consistent with a routine made all the difference for us. We still struggle with naps  but once we became super consistent with a routine it's like she's ready for it. It's really nice.

His late afternoon nap between 4-5) is usually a struggle so we have no problems putting him down at 7. He is always ready for it.

We usually start his routine at 7-7:15and he's asleep somewhere between 7:30-8. Because nap length varies, naps aren't consistent except he has the wake cycle of about 2 hours. I never try to put him down at night until he's been awake at least 2 hours either but he's generally pretty exhausted by 7 because his last nap usually ends around 4-4:30 but won't nap after 5 most of the time. My one problem is waiting for him to get hungry enough to eat enough closer to bedtime since he's stretched out to 3 hours between feedings. A couple times he's only eaten 2 oz at 7:15, then will stay awake until 7:45 before he eats hungry enough to finish his bottle. He sleeps until 3 or 4 am then wakes up between 6:30-7:30 am usually. Occasionally if he didn't go right back to sleep after eating he will sleep a bit longer.
