Thyroid medication?

Is anyone taking thyroid medication? I just started a couple of weeks ago. I was also taking vitex and I asked my doctor if I could continue taking it along with my new prescription he had never heard of Vitex or knew what it was. I just want to make sure it's ok to take with my prescription thyroid medicine or not? I stopped taking vitex since starting my thyroid medication.

You might want to hold off on the vitex till you get your thyroid hormones on track. Thyroid imbalances affect fertility, so getting them corrected might solve your issues and you won't need vitex.

I take synthroid first thing in the morning - wait for about 30 mins to have coffee and don't take any other medication for about 4 hours after. My RE said it may either counter react with other meds - or may reduce the effectiveness of my thyroid meds. So I wait, it's a pain but I wait. So far so good.

Im new to this group an i wanted to start taking vitex but wasn't sure about it i switched from levothyroxine 112 to Nature Throid i found out that my prolactin is high an thats one of the reasons i have no menstrual its been going on for 3 yrs im going crazy but my endo is uping my dosage on my nature throid because my levels are lower she told me about provera but i heard its not good for you i also have a fatty liver an my obgyn put me on bromocritin an i had to get off of it because it messes with your liver im at a lost what to do!

Thanks ladies I will hold off on the Vitex See how my 6 week follow up goes. As soon as I started taking my thyroid medication AF came so think they are helping it had been 60 days since my last cycle! Doctor said this should help me get pregent.
