how long do you pump for?

For the ladies who are able to pump 4-6 oz... how long does that take to pump? I'm currently pumping 2 oz in 20 minutes but wondering if I pumped longer maybe I could get 4-6 oz.

It depends on the time of day.

I have three babies that EBF their first year (still nursing my 15 month old).

I always pump 2 letdowns which for me is about 20 mins. My best pump was at night. When baby was sleeping decently, I'd put him down at 8-8:30. I'd stay up and pump at 10-10:30. 2 let downs at about 20 mins and I'd get 5-7oz. I'd freeze all of it.

If I tried to squeeze in a pump between feedings during the day, I didn't get near as much. Always pump 2 letdowns though, then let your nipples rest at least 10 mins before trying again. Power pumping can be great

Have you tried power pumping? I get about 4-8 a session but sometimes have a 3oz time as well. I exclusively pump and pump probably about 5 times a day for 15 min max. Staying hydrated helps me a ton as well!

Depends on time of day. I typically pump about 20 minutes and get about 8-9 oz (first pump) then about 5-6 oz (any other time). 
Some tips that have help me...
1) drink tons of water
2) set a routine. Pump at the same time every day if possible. Your body will learn the schedule and react better to the pump.
3) check the fit of the pump piece-- I took my pump to a breastfeeding support group and had a consultant ensure my fit was correct 
4)pump a set time, even if you aren't producing and are dry-pumping/-- it will trigger your body to make more
5) don't be fooled into believing that your supply is low if your pump output is low... baby can get more out than a pump
6) look at videos and pictures of baby and don't multitask while pumping!

I'm currently exclusively pumping for my daughter in the NICU. I pump every 3 hours for 20-30 minutes and get between 3-4 oz per session.
