Baby bathtub

I bought a baby bathtub today and even though I'm having a boy I got the pink one because for some reason it was over $10 cheaper than the blue one. Exact same tub, just a different color. Now my friend's telling me that I'm being cheap for going with the pink one and that I should've gotten blue since he's a boy. Even if colors weren't societally gendered (which I personally don't care about but I know some people Really do) isn't paying a lot more for the same thing in a different color kind of stupid? Especially when he'll be too young to even tell what color it is anyway? Or am I just being cheap and should've gotten the blue one?
