Birth story of Leah Ellen (lots of pics)

To

So my little girl is now 16 mths but i decided to write my birth story..

I was due January 29th 2016 and like i did with my other 3 kids, went overdue.

I was due to be induced February 5th and went in the day before for Cervidil gel. It hurt like hell and they said my cervix was hard, unfavourable and closed. Id had 3 stretch and sweeps prior and pretty much thought she would be a c section baby.

The cervidil was put in at 2pm.. at 6pm i felt what i now know were labour pains. Except they felt nothing like what i experienced with tnr other 3 kids... it was mild back ache. The dr said she was posterior but not coming soon. Had an internal done at 9pm (by this stage the back pain was pretty bad but bareable) and she said no change.

My partner, mum and the student midwife were sent home and they gave me an endone to help me sleep. They said they would be breaking my waters the next day.

I fell asleep and a few hours later, i woke... but i was in that much pain i felt like i had to poop. I buzzed and 20 mjns later a nurse waddles in and i said look lady im pushing!!! She panicked pressed a few buzzers and called my partner and said GET HERE NOW. They wheeled me into l&d and said they wanfed to check babys heart beat and monitor these pains ...

The only dr who could clearly see there was no time for that took my undies off and her head literally popped out. I closed my legs crying "i cant have the baby my partner isnt here" and 3 pushes (and a fart) later Leah Ellen was born. Dad missed it all! Student midwife missed it too!

She was 9lb 12oz and 53cm long healthy and happy. No tears for me either and i had her on no pain relief whatsoever. While she was a very dodgy sleeper (began sleeping through the night a month ago aged 15 months) she was breastfed for 14 months and is the cutest little baby ever. A real dads girl!
