1yo picky eater
Hi all. I'm looking for some nonjudgmental advice. I've asked my parents, my in laws, and mom friends of my own and they all make me feel like crap about this so here it goes.
My daughter turned one last month and it took her a while to start eating solid foods (she's been eating solid foods for about a month and a half now) but now that she has, I'm trying to jump on it. My problem is, she ONLY wants carbs. She won't eat any vegetables or fruit. The only way I can get her to eat fruit is if I mix it in with her yogurt. But I'm afraid she's going to start noticing it soon. I've tried everything. She loved the banana baby food so I tried to give her bananas (mashed up, puréed, little pieces, bigger pieces, and NOPE). She does the same thing with vegetables too. I give her what we're eating for meals but she won't eat it. But she'll inhale eggs, yogurt, spaghetti, goldfish, crackers, etc. She is VERY prone to gagging herself and making herself choke if she doesn't like a food. She's a bit of a drama queen. She did it the other day with a piece of fruit the smaller than the size of my pinky nail. My mother in law doesn't get it and tries to shove food in her mouth and it never ends well.
So how do I get her to eat fruits & veggies? Right now I'm just giving her baby food fruit & veggies because that's the only way she'll eat them. Anyone else have this problem? I would love some advice!!
