Would you feel lonely or out of place if you were the only sibling without a twin?

This might be kind of a strange question but I have been thinking about it a lot lately. My husband and I have two sets of twins. Our oldest children are five year olds boys. Then we have two, two year olds, a boy and a girl. Lately we've considered TTC a fifth child. I know there's a possibility of having twins again, which I wouldn't be angry about, but I am concerned if I just have a single child, that they will somehow feel left out or lonely. Twins have a very special bond. I wouldn't want this child to feel upset or anything. Sorry if this is the incorrect group. I will love it if it is.

Tbh I wouldn't let that stop me from having another child. It's hard to tell how close any of our children will be. There are twins who are super tight and then there are some that barely speak. Who knows, one of them might be closer to your next kid than they are to each other.

I have a friend who has twin younger sisters... it's just the three of them and she's aways made comments about how she barely exists in the twins eyes.. they have eachother and don't care if they involve her or not. There is only a 3 year age gap... but the twins are stuck together like glue and the older sister gets left behind.
Although with you having a boy and a girl, it may be different!  I think in the end only you know what's going to be best for your family!

Honestly so much of it has to do with the way you as parents interact with your kiddos and help them see themselves as each one so unique with their own strengths that they bring to the family entity! And creating an environment that loves each child equally! Yes there will always be siblings that seem to click better but as they get older those relationships change! Have another sweet kiddo! Or two! 😆😂😍 So fun that you have two sets of twins!!

I accidentally voted "yes" when I meant to vote no! I wouldn't worry about this at all. Your children will love one another no matter what, and each will create a special bond. Beside, with that large of family, there's a lot of love to go around. ❤️

I'm the oldest child by just over 6 years, and my siblings are only 15 months apart. While I was older and had my own things going on, I was still jealous of the bond my siblings had, though I was fairly close to my sister at times. I'm sure my brother also felt left out at times, being the only boy.

Now as adults, my brother (youngest child) and I are the closest, though I believe that dynamic has a lot to do with our significant others, including my sister's.

Point being: yes, a single child will feel left out sometimes, but that shouldn't be a major factor in your decision. You never know what bonds will form, especially if you create that sense of empathy in the other kids and they are more purposefully inclusive.

I dont think kids feel that way because they dont understand it like adults do. Us as adults seem to think more into things than kids do they are simple minded. Kids are happy with siblings and without siblings. I guarantee that majority of people that aren't twins arent that upset over it kids or adults. Sure it would be cool but it's nothing that would cause any distress to your child.
