ovulation test

I was recently on my second round of checking my ovulation and are using two different apps. When I was supposed to ovulate I tested each day and only the first day came out positive and the rest were negative. I'm so confused?? There is only a very slight chance of pregnancy as we havent had sex since the day after my last period ended.
