Finger foods after purees - 3 day wait??

Question

When you start introducing finger foods after purees (like they say around 7-8 months), do you still follow the 3 day waiting rule? For 3 days, you give them just 1 finger food, then the next 3 days they can have 2 finger foods, etc?? I feel like I see people just giving their babies all sorts of food back-to-back, like pasta, broccoli, cheese, bananas, etc.

I say do the wait! With my baby I did the wait, but I fed her right after she would wake up from naps. So as she ate I noticed huge red marks on her head (I thought it was just how she was sleeping on her head). But it turned out to be a food allergy. But since the red mark didn't always appear I had to start completely over with trying foods out when I realized it wasn't her napping that was causing the red marks. Apparently it was fruits causing it. So I have to wait till she is a year old and try fruits out again and see if it still happens.

Basically if your baby has a reaction and you didn't wait you won't know what's caused it. And always keep benadryl in your home in case baby reacts bad you have something on hand in case.

When I started finger foods I didn't do a 3-day wait. Largely because we feed him off our plates and I don't have the patience to eat the same dinner 3 nights in a row. With high allergy stuff like eggs or peanut butter I offered those at breakfast or snack when we're not sharing food so he can try it out for a few days.
