Bible study Saturday ( June 24, 2017)
Hello. I pray that you all are having a blessed day. May God work a mighty work in each of us and bless us with understanding of his words. Like always please feel free to comment and add on.
I just thought I would encourage each of us on today. I'm sure we all have done something that above all the other things we did, this one thing surely we could never be forgiven for. We all have been like the brothers of Joseph. That we feel secure until life brings back that one sin to our memory and we feel like surely this thing can't be forgiven. Surely this is to great a sin for us to be forgiven of.
Bible book Genesis: So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
Genesis 50:17-21 KJV
‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept. His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said. But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.
Genesis 50:17-21 NIV
The same way Joseph handled this situation, surely God being God will be exceedingly greater in his forgiveness to us. Our God is will to blot out from history that it ( that sin) even happened when we repent of something. God is willing to make it not even appear when we stand in judgment when repent and don't do that sin again. There is no wrong that you can do that God won't forgive when you, myself included repent and stop sinning. I want you to know that God is a merciful God.
God bless you. Amen
