is anyone on here a vet tech?

Posting this here on the off chance someone works with animals and can help me out. This appeared on my dogs lip about a week ago. Doesn't seem to be getting any better. I've been trying to keep it clean by dabbing it with a bit of peroxide 2x a day. 
Anyone know what it may be or how to get rid of it?

We're not positive but we believe she is a hound/Springer mix

I'm a vet. From the picture it doesn't look serious. It looks like the pigmented top layer of skin has been rubbed off...could have been bit by a bug and rubbed his face on the floor...

Don't buy that crazy liquid that the previous woman recommended. That's ridiculous. She probably makes it and sells it herself.

Are there any signs of bites/stings? The dog may have tried to eat an insect and it bit/stung the lip or inside of its mouth. I'd take your dog to the vet regardless, but a stinger could be in the lip still if it was a bee or something. At this point, if it was from a bug you'd know if the dog was allergic but better safe than sorry.

You should definitely take him to the vet it looks like he may have gotten bit by something, he could possibly have an infection or have gotten bit by a snake
