I don't know how to put myself out there without getting my heart stepped on

The last dozen times I have put myself out there with guys I keep falling for the guys that aren't willing to catch me. The last guy I was with was a guy I fell really hard for and he ended up screwing another girl and telling everybody a bunch of my deepest secrets to the point where I am mortified to step outside. Now I don't know how to start a relationship with someone that I truely care for without getting hurt
