Birth control

I am 8 weeks pp and my dr wants to know what birth control i want. The thing is i dont want to because it took me 2 1/2 years to get pregnant with my first because birth control messed with my hormones so much. For the second one i was on supplements to balance hormones and got pregnant a month after my husband got home from deployment. So i am scared to get on birth control but also dont want to get pregnant until my little one is a year. Is there any way to tell if your ovulating with out a period? I am EBF but will be going back to work when she is 4 months. I am familiar with tracking for ovulation but not while breast feeding. Any suggestion to tracking ovulation or not getting pregnant before my little one is one?
