What's the difference between making love and having sex?

I wanted to know the different perspectives, from different people. And also It feels like me and my man have never made love, but at the same time I don't have a clear explanation of it. I would love some clarification, thank you!❤️

My boyfriend and I we don't have sex but maybe 4 times a month and having sex I consider that like rougher and faster thrusting and like just pounding, I guess make you scream kinda sex.

Making love we consider eye contact, kisses and hands all over each other, whispers in the ears, gentle moans, deeper thrusts 
and honestly you feel so much more connected with each other afterwards.
