hot pavement- doggy shoes?

Question

Recently I had to run barefoot somewhere and because it's been in the 100s here it literally seared off a couple layers of the skin on my feet. While dogs feet are tougher, I don't think anyone's feet would be comfy on that temp of blacktop and we really lack on sidewalks in our area. I was looking into dog shoes for heat and a lot of them were $40 for what looked like toddler socks.

So my question is, would it be weird if I just bought a pack of toddler socks to put on my doggy?

The toddler socks will not protect from the heat and your dogs get will still get burned
Trying putting thin socks on and walking where you dog will be walking and see how it feels to get an idea. Their feet aren't tougher than ours they are just as sensitive.

The socks won't prevent the heat from hurting your dog. The rules is if you can't put the back of your hand on the pavement for ten seconds without pain then your dog definitely can't walk on it. I'd buy the shoes tbh

Maybe double up on the socks just so there's enough thickness. Or buy crocheted baby socks? They are usually thicker than normal socks and the patterns usually leave a little room between the stitches so you'll get so air flow too.

I think it would be fine, it's way cheaper and it's protecting your dogs feet
