is this name stealing or not?

I LOVE the name Athena and my good friends step daughter (who is 4) already has that name, is it wrong to use it ? It has meaning to me because I am Greek and my family actually loves it too, I am absolutely stumped over this. Noone owns a name and I'd hate for us to not be that close in the future and not have just used it. What should I do? Any other name ideas?? Bahh

Best thing is to try to ask her about it. Try to say something flattering like "you have great taste. I really like that name and can't get it out of my head. Do you mind if I use it for my baby?" It may go over easier especially if her kid has a few years on yours.

My parents named me Kalicia (kuh-Lee-see-uh), another lady in our church who was a close friend of hers at the time liked my name so much she named her daughter who was born a few months after me Kalisha (kuh-Lee-shuh) 🙄 my mom was kind of upset about it & it's made things weird between me & the other girl to this day.
