My guy friend went through a break up and some other issues with the girl he was seeing after. He would constantly ask for my advice, which I am always happy to try and help. He would go on to tell me that I gave the best advice out of anyone and that I was a great person, he considered me like a best friend etc. He would always say you should hang out with us, but would never invite me. There were times he would text me for advice while out with other friends and say "yeah everyone here was saying how much they like you and that you're such a nice person" but it's like, you could've invited me? So I feel like he was kissing up. I was into his roomate and he would always bring him up when the conversation would start to die down, and I feel like it was to get more advice out of me. I'm just not into people saying they're gonna invite you places and don't or showering you with compliments just to get advice.
