Religion and Relationships

Jane
Here comes a confusing story...
So I'm Chinese. My relatives from my dad's side of the family is mostly Buddhists, and my relatives from my mom's are mostly Muslims. My parents, grandparents, and I are Lutheran Christians. My paternal grandfather was a pastor. My dad is a member of the communist party as he work for the government, I am an honorary member of the League of Young Pioneers of the CPC, and my mom also works for the government, but is not a member of the party. We're all supposed to be atheists.
I was born in China, making me a citizen. I moved to the US when I was 9 and moved here to Canada two years ago. There's a boy at my school. He is a Jew from Germany, who moved here last year because of rising anti-semitism where he lived. We are really good friends. I like him, he likes me. He knows I like him, and I know he likes me. He knows that I know he likes me, and I know that he knows I like him. Everyone knows that we like each other.
My parents doesn't allow me to date because it would affect my grades. His parents never told him that he's not allowed to date but he's also not exactly allowed. He also has a brother who really doesn't approve of him being friends with a gentile girl, much less dating one.
He's asked me out a few times, and we just went as friends. I don't know what this is, and I don't know what to do.
