Is your baby holding a sippy cup by themselves? If so, how did you help them to learn to?

My boy loves his sippy cup but having a hard time figuring out to lift his arms up to get formula out. How did you help them learn to if your baby does?

Have you tried one with a straw? We started my daughter with the 360 one. I would hold her hand on it and lift them up to show her what to do. After that we introduced her to a straw one. She would drink my water from a straw and seemed to prefer that. This is the one we use and she loves it.

I'm teaching mine to drink from an open cup, I model for her and let her try and then assist her in drinking, then let her try... she makes a big mess but she can hold it now she's just struggling to get the cup from the table to her mouth without spilling and then how to get just enough liquid in her mouth but it's amazing what a 7 month old baby can learn!

Sort of. He doesn't always get the right angle to have water actually come out but I'm sure he'll catch on eventually

Mine has had a free flow sippy cup since 4 months just to practise now she uses normal sippy cups, free flow and Ines with straws perfectly, only took her a couple of weeks to get the hang of it

I started by holding his hands on it while he was eating, then I would put them there but let go so he would be the one holding it. After a couple of days of that I knew he was perfectly capable, he was just being a lazy bones, so I started just setting it in front of him and eventually he learned that I wasn't going to hold it for him anymore and now he grabs it on his own, no problem
