Anyone advice for horrible periods?

When I get my period, the first day is always accompanied by a variety of side effects that impair everything I try to do.

It starts with cramping so intense that I feel like I'm going to throw up when I try to stand. No type of medicine (Advil, Tylenol, Aleve, Midol, stronger painkillers) seem to help at all, whether I start taking them before the pain begins or when I'm already experiencing it. A lot of times these cramps will wake me up from sleeping and then I can't go back to sleep, resulting in me being tired all the next day. If it happens to strike on a weekday, it can be assured that I won't be in school or that I will arrive late/leave early because of the pain.

I'm also only able to use the heaviest absorbency tampons throughout my period or risk bleeding through within about 2 hours (even wearing a pad under, blood still goes everywhere).

I also get very nauseas during this time. It gets to a point where I have a really hard time eating anything because it feels like I'm just going to throw it up. I never actually do throw up, but the nausea is so bad that it keeps me from wanting to do anything but lie in bed.

I just don't know what to do. I've tried exercise, warm baths, sleeping the pain away with the assistance of medication, essential oils, medicines, heat; nothing seems to help. Marijuana is not legalized where I live and because I'm a teenager living with my parents it's just not possible for me to use it.

Anyone have any tips for how to handle horrible period side effects?
