Anyone else's baby's not saying words?

My daughter isn't saying anything, not even mama dada bye bye. If you tell her to wave bye bye she will. And if you ask her to come here she will. She babbles a lot and is constantly making noises and giggling but never forms words. Is this normal? She's almost walking and has been crawling for a while. Physically she's on track. All the other babies her age are saying words and it worries me she isn't. Shell be one on the 27th

My daughter turned one two weeks ago and only says "dada" (which she started last week). She also babbles constantly and responds to many commands, but refuses to say anything else! At her 12 month appt I asked if she was behind and he said talking and walking can both happen anywhere between 8-18 months and it's all normal. As long as they're babbling and understanding, they're just going to talk when they want to!

Don't feed too much into comparing your baby to other babies their age. I've done that and worried myself over nothing. I have 4 children and they've all developed differently, but are all normal! Current LO babbles a lot like yours and she'll say mama, dada, sometimes bubba and bye-bye but that's the extent of it. I'm not worried about it. Some babies have no speech at all at this point and suddenly take off and are saying full sentences at 18 months. Look more at her emotional responses/eye contact and things like that. In example, smiling/crying when appropriate, looks at you and others without "avoiding" eye contact, looking at familiar objects when they are spoken, etc..

My daughter only says dada and babbles. She signs milk, dog, more, and all done though and understands simple commands and growls at a lion and munches at a giraffe. 
I didn't talk for a long time as a baby and then the joke was I was making up for it because I never stopped once I started.

Not to worry. My daughter  (11 months) only says 1 word but my middle son said nothing until 18 months. He's 3 now. You just want to be sure baby can hear okay. If she responds to not - loud sounds behind her that's a good sign. Also try animal sounds. My daughter tweets when she sees a bird after I taught her lol

My daughter is not saying anything yet, she turns one on Wednesday. We took her to the doctor today and he seemed a little concerned since they're supposed to be saying 3 words by 12 months, and while our daughter makes a variety of syllibals, she has no idea what they mean. He referred us to a child development specialist, but told us not to worry too much. Even though she's on the lower end, she's still in the range of normal.
