When you need to ask a stranger in a public bathroom for a pad or a tampon, where is the best place to ask them?

I was working on a tour out in the middle of nowhere and had to ask a random stranger when my monthly decided to come back a week after my period had originally ended.

I've been asked outside of the bathroom & outside the stall & inside the stall lmao. I always have extra on me & surprisingly when I was about 6 months pregnant my friend got her period at work without being ready & I had some in my purse that I didn't get to use cause I was pregnant😂

If someone just knocks on the stall and asks I probably won't respond or say no very quickly and leave. I don't like using public bathrooms in the first place and when doing my business I do not like or appreciate being bothered. It makes me very uncomfortable. If someone asked me outside the stall I'd help if I could, but I don't carry pads and very few tampons since I use a cup. So I'm usually not able to help. Outside the bathroom would be fine too. But never inside the stall.
