Is this normal for BBT? If so, I'm sad

Danielle

I got a CVS brand bbt last week. I noticed that it takes a super long time to give your temp compared to my other regular CVS thermometer. I brushed that off since the box said results within 60 seconds. Any who, my bbt readings have been in the 97's. I never have a temp below 98.3 on a regular thermometer. Sunday bbt was 97.80, Monday bbt was 97.53 Today the reading was 97.88 prompting the app to say I have probably ovulated. My period just ended either late Sunday night or early Monday morning. I did get some cramping yesterday, but I thought it was just AF kicking me one last time on her way out. I took my temp with my regular Vick's thermometer right after I took my bbt and my temp on the regular thermometer is 98.3. I retested with regular thermometer and got 98.3 again. I tested with the basal thermometer again and got 97.76. I did all of this without getting up and moving around. Is it normal for the basal thermometer and the regular thermometer to differ by .5 degrees? I didn't take my temp with my regular thermometer on the other days to compare. Should I trust the accuracy of this CVS basal thermometer? I hadn't used an opk this month because my Obgyn said not to start until after my period ended. It would really suck if I've already ovulated and if I've been ovulating during my period this whole time. That would explain my lack of baby if I've been consistently missing my fertility window. We don't BD when AF is around. Please tell me it's a faulty thermometer *sad face* I don't want to be out this month before I even got started :(
