Anyone else's child throw tantrums in public??

Question

I'm struggling with my 18 month atm as she has thrown a tantrum twice now when out in public. First time was at swimming, when it was time to go she just flops on the floor kicking and screaming! When I pick her up she starts clawing at me and pulling my hair out! It's so embarrassing! It happened again today at the doctors! In the waiting room with with loads of people staring at me! And then again in the doctors office! I'm gonna end up stop taking her anywhere if she keeps this up!

well refusing to go out places because she throws a tantrum is surely not the answer because she will get older and realize all she has to do is throw a fit and she'll gets what she wants

I think everybody's child throws tantrums in public at some point, my 15 month old just started doing it. It's very frustrating but we have to try to remember that they're still learning how to act in public and what's ok and what's not ok. My son has done it at he store a couple times when I've not given him something he wanted. If he's on the floor I just pick him up and face him away from me (he scratches and pulls my hair if he's facing me) and then tell him no that's not nice and walk away with him. If he's in the shopping cart I just walk away from where we are and tell him no it's not nice to act like that. Hopefully that phase will end soon lol it is super embarrassing but it happens, don't let it stress you too much

My daughter is 3 and does this all the time and loves running away, thinking it's hilarious. When I catch her she screams, hits and kicks.
