Contractions?

So I have been having mild period cramping for about a week and a half. My doctor didn't seem too concerned as I got for bio physicals twice a week. I go to the doctor in a few hours but I never went into labor with my first some I had an emergency c-section so I'm not exactly sure what early labor feels like. Today I have had a few painful spurts which feel like they start at the top of my uterus versus the cramping it only lasts a few seconds and then is gone and has only happened a few times today. Wondering if it is a start of a regular contraction. I'm scheduled for my c-section next Wednesday so I'm at the end of my pregnancy.
