No ultrasound until 12 weeks!?

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant. I had my first prenatal appt on Tuesday. I asked of I can get an ultrasound asap so I can see it. She said I don't get one until 12 weeks..... Like wtf. I love in Ontario.. this shots covered I should get it whenever I ask. noe I have to wait another 6 weeks before I get to see it. I want to see it noe as I'm all out of stick to pee on and I don't feel pregnant. I want to see that flicker and know I'm going to be a mom. im super frustrated and have been crying because seriously, 6 MORE WEEKS!? I don't know what to do to occupy myself in going nuts.

Im in Ontario too. The first ultrasound at 12 weeks is standard. My last one was my 20 weeks and I'm 40 weeks on Saturday and my gyno never sent me for another one. I know it's hard to wait, but Drs shouldnt send people for unnessisary tests. There are private places if you want to go

I'm from Pennsylvania and they made me wait til 9 weeks, I get another at 20 weeks and then no more unless there are problems later on. I know it's tough to wait, but it will be so special when you finally get to see your little bean, plus it will look more human like by that point! Best wishes 😊

Is there an ultrasound facility near you? Where I'm from in Florida, US, there is a business called "Bumps" and they only do ultrasounds for pregnant women. The lady who owns it is a certified radiographer and ultrasound technician. They do 3d and 4d ultrasounds too. Maybe there's something like that around??

I got one at 9weeks and the anatomy scan at 20weeks.

I got one at 5 weeks, 6 weeks, and I'm scheduled for one at 9 weeks

I live in California. I was seeing an infertility specialist when I got pregnant so that's why I got an ultrasound at 6 and 7 weeks. Then my next one is with my OB at 9 weeks. Then another one at 13 weeks. My next appointment is next month and I'm sure they'll just check for the heartbeat of the baby with the Doppler then anatomy scan around 20 weeks. Every single one of this appointments are covered by my insurance.

You should ask them how many ultrasounds you get all together . If you only get 2 is better you wait because you will want to see the baby later on in the pregnancy when the baby is actually bigger and looks like a baby than now because at 6 weeks is only a little white spot that you can see when they do the ultrasound
