I'm financially dependent on my boyfriend
We work in a tourist down. It's the off-season. We're both a little broke right now, but his job is $10/hr + tips, mine is $5/hr+tips. Our tips (per week) equal out (to pretty much crap). I only work less than 20 hours a week because it's the off season and everyone has hour cuts. He still works 30+. Right now, we are almost equal in our house bills (very low), but he's creating a savings with his extra money and I'm just breaking even.
In a month we are moving from FL to PA. He will have a job there making $850/week. I'm looking for jobs now but haven't found any leads yet. I'll probably end up still being a crappy waitress.
He says he's okay paying for our rent and utilities and he only really wants me to find a job because when I'm home alone all day with nothing to do, it triggers my depression and I'll just lay in bed in the dark all day. But I'm not okay with it. I'm so scared moving up there without a job knowing that the move will completely drain every cent I have and I won't be able to pay for anything our first month. It makes me feel really panicky, being dependent.
Have any of you ladies dealt with this or have any ideas for how to make this better?
I do dogsit and I'm looking to get into cleaning houses when we go up there, but I'm really looking for a real 9-5, dress-code type job. I'm looking for a steady paycheck so I feel, like, REAL again.
