6 month old suddenly wants to latch

I've been exclusively pumping since day 1. I got my son to latch maybe 3 times since birth lol. As of lately, he's been trying to latch, I think. He's biting the outside of my shirt, trying to pull my boob out, all things I've seen EBF babies do. Is this normal? He's around when I pump so I'm sure he knows where milk comes from but it's weird how he all of sudden is interested in latching on. I'm also scared to let him try because he has teeth now. He's now 6 months old
