Should I wait..?

I need some quick advice. I met a guy at the beach today and I liked him. We had a chat while going back to our hotels, It appeared we live in the same place. I wanted to get his number but got nervous and awkwardly said "bye" and left. I know where he lives, but I'm facing a dilemma. Should I go to his room and ask if he wants to take a walk and just chill with him right now, or should I wait for tomorrow and see him at the beach? The problem is that if I see him at the beach neither of us will have any privacy, but if I go out with him now I'm afraid it will be awkward... OR should I just go to his room and ask for his number..??idk what to do. Help me😂
