Does interracial dating still get negative reactions, or is it normally pretty excepted for the most part now a days?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience being in a interracial relationship? I thought that society was over it, I didn't even think twice when I met & started dating my current boyfriend. Our different races never even crossed my mind.. but we went out to breakfast the other day & a older lady came up & started raving about how cute & happy we were & we thanked her.. then she continues by reassuring us that she's 'totally okay with this' & that she has a sister in an interracial relationship who's happy, so she wanted to tell us different races can be happy together... is this something I will deal with a lot or was it just a random occurrence that happen early in the relationship out of chance?

Both my parents are racist and they have no shame in admitting it. My mom is against Latino/hispanics and my dad is against African Americans. But for me it doesn't matter what nationality or race you are. Every person is an individual, has their own personality, and should not be judged for the where their ancestors lived.

Yeah you still get the occasional things here and there, from really every race. We've had the obvious stares, there was a woman who was black that came up to me while my husband was in the restroom and lectured me for "stealing their men" and I was just like "um my husband is no ones property" 🤷🏽‍♀️ I had a cop pull me over and then have my husband who wasn't driving or doing anything get out so he could pat him down and called for backup then came to my window and asked me if my parents knew I was dating "that". Oh yeah and my abuela refused to go to my parents wedding bc my mom was white and not Mexican like my dad, but then again that was like 35 years ago.

I do think we've come a long way, but there's still room for and likely always will be room for growth and improvement. I'm Native and my fiancé is white. His family are perfectly fine with it and my race has never been an issue at all. None of our friend or co-workers have ever been less than supportive/friendly/etc. My immediate family is great too. But many people in my community and extended family are horrible to my fiancé. I haven't been around them in a few years now due to their racist beliefs. So there's certainly push back on interracial couples  However, in my experience at least the push back doesn't come from the Caucasians, but from the families of other races. Though that's not always true, just my experience personally.

I'm white with a Native American boyfriend. Usually we get the cute couple comments (not because of race most of the times its because we have been together so long (6 years) and are still crazy for each other) but there have been several instances where we have been harassed. the first was when we started dating. A friend was jealous I was dating Xavier rather than said friend. He told me that Xavier looked like the kind of guy to rape me in an alleyway. Cut him out of my life quickly. Then about a year later we went to a school dance on a double date with my Hispanic friend and his white girlfriend. Another guy at the table started telling Xavier and my Hispanic friend to go back to their own countries (technically Xavier is Canadian, but he looks hispanic). We left because both of us were ready to punch this kid. So yeah, idiots will harass you sometimes. But obviously my relationship with him is still going (we are moving in together in two weeks), my hispanic friend and his girlfriend just got engaged, and my roommates are also an interracial couple that has been together for 3 years. You can make it work even if some people suck.
