Was I right to do this?

My husbands ex and him have a daughter together and my husband talks to me about everything and we agree how to co parent because we also have a son together. Well his ex texted me saying THIER child is none of my business and blah blah! So I blocked her number. Well I got a text from some random number today saying that I need to know my place and that if I said another thing about (my husbands ex) that this person knows what I look like and would find me in town and beat me up. Well I feel when my husband married me and wants to include me I. His daughters life that then I have the right to do so. And she said that she made a child with HIM not me so I need to stay the hell away. Well he married ME not her so I want her to stay away! So I filed a police report on her for harassment for those texts. Was I right to do so?
