One of my friends had her daughter last week and she absolutely loves her mamaroo. I don't have experience with it myself, but when I asked my friend about it she sent me a picture of her daughter in it.... all smiles! Every baby is different, so if you buy it just keep the box and receipt so you can return it if your baby hates it.

I'm a Neonatal ICU RN, and we use these often.  It definitely seems to depend on the baby,  baby's age and some babies prefer certain settings over others.

We have a fisher price swing that friend recommended over this one

I bought this and thankfully kept the box. I had to take it back my lo HATED it.  She does however love her fisher price swing. Idk if it was because of fabric, that it's low to the ground, or what but it definitely was a fail for us.

I don't find them practical. I have a 6 month old and had the chance to have this in my home for awhile and she doesn't like it. She has a regular swing so it could just be that she's used to the type that she has but the motions seemed a bit jerky for her liking. The machine itself isn't jerky but it's definitely different than the centripetal force of a normal swing. Not to mention my LO was almost to long for it. In my opinion, not worth the $.
