Best birth control?

I started taking birth control pills (ortho tri cyclen) soon after I got my period because of cysts and horrible periods. I was on this for around 6-7 years. I was very depressed during this time and about a year ago, my boyfriend learned in one of his classes how birth control can cause a lot of side effects and it turned out I had all of them.

I stopped taking the birth control and my bf and I started using natural preventive methods which is why I downloaded this app. I have been off the birth control for about a year without any problems and side effects started to go away which has been great! The past few months how ever, my periods have been irregular and I've had a couple horrible cysts. I talked with my gyno and she honestly suggested I stay off all birth control bc each had its own side effects and she knows how strongly medicine effects me.

However, I would love to not be anxious every month or have cysts. My boyfriend and I are very careful because we do not want a baby at this time. If any of you have your own success stories with finding the right birth control or just tips on being extra preventative, I would greatly appreciate them!
