Thoughts and experiences on membrane sweeping?

Due to several issues, my doc wants to induce me with pitocin at 38. I REALLY don't want that so he's stripping my membranes tomorrow to see if that works.

I'm already 80% effaced (thinned) and 4 1/2 cm dilated. They say the more you are, the bigger chance of it working.

I also go into very intense "prodromal" labor almost every other day. Contracting a lot! (I'm getting tired of hospital trips just to find out that I'm dilating but the contractions are stopping)

I've heard I may be more prone to it working with that fact too but I don't know!

I'm looking for anyone that had a membrane sweep who was in a similar situation?

I'm praying hard that this works!
