Dabs? Newports?

Okay so i did dabs not long ago. it was lined on a blunt. everyone told me id get extreamly high and sleepy. I never did. Ive been smoking blunts for the longest time. Also i smoked a newport for the first time, someone said you can get high on newports or atleast some sort of high, i never did with that either. Am i doing something wrong?😂😭
