sleeping arrangements?

I made a post about my SO's son sleeping in the room with our newborn in February because we could only afford a 2 bedroom.. everyone said it wasnt a good idea because it's not fair for his son to have to be in the room with a crying baby getting woken up throughout the night (which i 100% agree with). His son would only be staying with us every other weekend probably, so what if I just put a bed for him and a crib in there, so they "share a room" but when his son is there, baby sleeps with us.. (in a cosleeper thing that way it's safe).. could this workout yall think ??? I just dont want to have to fit all of baby's stuff in a room with mine and SO's stuff because we have soooo much stuff, and SO's son's mom doesnt really let us keep things of his..
