Very Alert Newborn
I remember people telling me how much my newborn son would sleep his first month of life. Well here we are at one month, and it doesn't seem like he sleeps much compared to other babies his age. Sometime he'll stay awake after a feeding for 2 or 3 hours at a time, just observing us and looking around. And when he's awake and alert like that he expects to be talked to and for you to look at him. I will say that he is not like that at night time, where he is only semi-awake to be fed and changed. Usually eating at 12am, 2-3am, and 4-6 am. I love interacting with him, but I know he needs to sleep. And he gets so upset if I try to put him to sleep during those times, even though he may be yawning and obviously groggy and tired. Is this unique? Am I doing something wrong, and if so how do I correct it?
