I'm sad and tired of it
I'm realizing that my kids are not growing up in the world I did. I know times change An I'm well aware of the lifestyle changes around me. But I'm so disheartened to see so many women putting men down for simply being male. I'm sad for my son an seeing how he is going to have to deal with women who dislike him for being born male! Men are our counterparts. Created to do what we cannot. I raise my son to know he is a strong worthy intelligent young man and he deserves a woman ( or man) who will respect him an love him for all he is.
I teach my daughter to be the same. I do not treat one above the other simplest bc of gender. An I keep seeing these posts about how "women are better than men" "we birth children what do they do" what is this teaching our sons I have to ask! I know that women had to struggle to get the right to vote an equal pay for equal work and fight against sexual harassment in the work place an I know is some places it still occurs but overwhelmingly I don't see this in my day to day life at all. An I worry that we are showing the young men of today that they are not valued. That we are raising young women that don't respect men as people even, but an obstacle to be conquered.
I love my son and my two daughters and I hope that they grow up knowing they are loved and needed in this world an that they should be valued on their intelligence and work ethic and care An compassion for others, not simply on what's between their legs.
