Do I need to pump in the middle of the night?

So as the title says, my 3 month old has started sleeping 9 hour stretches at night! while I am happy about this I'm also worried it's going to affect my milk supply, I don't have a huge supply to begin with, just enough for her and can't pump extra. So I'm wondering do I need to get up and pump to maintain supply or can I sleep? thank you in advance!

if you get up and pump you will maintain/ increase your supply. By feeding when the baby is not eating you will be able to pump one extra feeding a day that you can potentially freeze for later. So no you do not need to pump in the middle of the night but you might want to to have a buffer.

I have three kids that I nursed into toddlerhood, and I'm still nursing my third.

My best pumping session was at 10:30pm. I'd put baby down at 8, pump at 10:30, then go to bed. I'd do this when his first stretch of sleep was at least 5 hours. No way I'm waking during the night to pump though. I work full time and have 3 kids. I need what little rest I get.

You may find that you need to. I don't have a large supply, in fact I have to supplement on top of nursing, but I find if I go more than 5 hours I am so full & sore!

From someone who had to EP (exclusively pump) yes you will and it sticks cuz your baby sleeps great but you can't 😩 but your supply will go down if you don't!

If you don't have a great supply you may need to keep getting up and pumping at night. I had a huge over supply so not pumping at night was fine for me. And I just ended up getting more out in the morning to compensate for not getting up at night Everyone is different
