2 DUIs

Hey guys just wanted to hear from someone that might have been through something similar, and how it turned out for you!

So my husband has had 2 DUIs in the past. one he got before we were together & the other while we were dating. When he was drinking casually around me or friends he was fine, but when he went out with his friends he would just go crazy and our relationship suffered because of it. After he got his 2nd DUI he has stopped drinking completely to comply with all the rules and regulations to keep his workers permit to drive. It's been about 4 years, & our marriage has been amazing! he has just a few months before he will technically be able to drink again.

We now have a 1 & 2 year old together and I am so nervous that when he can drink again he will spiral back into the way things used to be and I just can't have him behaving that way around our children. We've talked about it and he said he just wants to be able to have a beer or a glass of wine with me at dinner and such things but I'm still just so nervous! I know we have both grown it I also know some people just have a hard time controlling substance abuse when they have had problems in the past. Someone please tell me they have had a similar situation Wouk out for the best for them!

Update: I guess I should have added that he didn't have a problem stopping drinking or just having one or two drinks when casually drinking. It's when he goes out with his friends and they try and drink each other under the table. He would go out often and come home a complete ass. Just praying he's grown up enough to know he can't do that anymore with myself and two kids at home.
