thoughts on naming baby boy after husband?

Im only 5 weeks so we dont know the sex yet and already decided on what we want for a girl and we thought we were decided on the boy name. my husband is already a junior but he really wants to name his kid after him so he would be Donald Keith Voland III. personally I like the name but we have had some family members tell us it is really stupid and we should give our child his own identity. what do you all think?

It's kind of rich for family members to give you grief about making your kid the third when your husband is already a junior! I don't think there is anything wrong with it, it can be nice to keep up family traditions.

If you like it go for it girl!! My dad is Robert Joseph Alcala and my brother is Jake Robert Joseph Alcala. My boyfriend has no desire to name our child after him so I don't really know my personal view on it other than if you and your hubby are happy with YOUR child's name then who cares!! ❤️

I reversed my husbands name his name is Daniel, Alexander. 
My son's name is Alexander, Daniel. ❤️

My husband is a fourth. We pretty much are bound by his family law to have a fifth if it's a boy. But I think it's wonderful and love family names anyway!

If this hopefully sticky bean is a boy, he will be named after his father. My husband doesn't like it much, but has agreed. He wants to give him his own name, whatever that means. His name will be his own. He will just have the same name as his father, and many other people in the world.

Yes! You can give the baby his own nickname or call him by the middle name:)

I think you should do whatever you guys want to do!  But I am in a similar situation. My husband is a second. We are not going to continue that though. If we have a boy, we decided we will choose a first name and then use my husband's first name as the baby's middle name. To carry it on, but also be unique.

I like using the dad's name as a middle name. So it's a tribute but they still have their own name. Don't use the dad's first name as the baby's first babe unless they are a junior. Otherwise it gets really confusing.
