Rotten kid?

I'm increasingly worried my kid is a spoiled brat. He just turned 3 and he screams and throws fits seemingly everywhere we go in public. I truly don't know whether he is a nice kid.

u just described the average 3 year olds. not rotten,  however,  at that age,  they will absolutely try to see how far they can get before u go nuts. if u truly think theres more to it, take him to a behavioural doctor

It takes time and training but you can teach him to behave appropriately in public. Small kids can be overwhelmed by being out in public. Try walking around on your knees sometime and see how scary the world looks. Nobody is his size and the world is just a forest of scary legs. Mommy is completely ignoring him while trying to shop, not engaging with him or smiling, and is probably making the "stressed face"

Schedule play time into your outings. Stop at a park in between stores. Bring snacks to stuff in his mouth. It's hard to cry and chew at the same time. Look for child friendly areas like ball pits and arcades in the mall. Have special small toys and coloring books you save for boring trips to the bank. If all else fails, leave him with a sitter and go alone. He'll learn pretty quickly that if he can't behave while out, he won't go out AND he won't have mommy.

And give the little dude a break. He was literally born 3 years ago.

Spoiled is a fairly straight forward definition. Is he spoiled? Do you give him everything he wants when he demands it? If that's the case I suggest you stop rewarding bad behaviour. All kids will push boundaries and test your patience to see how far they can go and what they can get away with. Figure out what kind of discipline you need to use with him and learn how to be stern about it. There needs to be real rules with absolutely no grey area. When he acts out discipline him and wait until he's calmed down. Explain to him what he's doing wrong and how he should be behaving instead. Take things away, use time outs, if you're in favour of spanking as a last resort then do your thing. Reward him for good behaviour especially if he's gone all day without an issue. Stay consistent. I think that's the most important thing. Never give in, remember you are the parent and he is the child. You are in control so keep yourself together.

CONSISTENCY is the key. Whatever discipline you decide on keep doing it three warnings n then your out rule works a treat. Dont give in keep doing it. It takes time but you will get there. It doesnt lasr forever !

When he throws his fits sit him down and make him sit there don't let the crying etc get to you don't talk to him or feed into the drama because that's what they want I went through this with my now 2 year old its attention that they are seeking weather it's good or a bad response that's all start using no more often take toys away if need be explain to him that what he is doing is unacceptable and he can sit in time out for x amount of time and once the time is up if he still haven't stopped you will add more time or take a toy away or he will be sent to bed... (I have watched a lot of nanny 911 that I used some of there tips)

Wouldn't say he's rotten but throwing fits is not good and you have to be firm and stop him asap. 
It is not normal behavior for kids to throw fits. And don't ignore it because it will not go away.
