How many have the life they thought they would have?

Question

I'm 39. At this point I thought I would be married, have a couple of kids and be a stay at home wife and mother. Instead I'm on the verge of losing my job (the company is closing), I'm scared I might not find another job, I have no boyfriend/husband and no children (I did just start talking to someone but we haven't physically met yet) and I feel like I've made a mess of my life. So I'm wondering how many here have the life they always thought they would have or are even close to the life they want? I'm trying not to give up hope, but it's hard.

A million years from what I thought I would have, but a baby wasn't included in that thought and since I have a son now I have to say this life isn't all that bad even if it's not what I thought I wanted.

When I was in high school 10 years ago....crazy! I never wanted kids. I was a wild child and never had a serious relationship. This boy I knew my whole life started coming around. He never liked me when we were younger but once high school came he started coming around. He used to ride his bike through my yard shirtless 😁. Anyways we dated. Had a lot of fighting and almost broke up but we stuck it out and things got better. He wanted to have a baby with me at 18 and I said no and I wanted to wait until I got married and bought a house. Couple years go by and we get married. I was 20 and he was 21. After awhile I wondered if I made the wrong choice but I stuck it out. I was a SAHW most of our relationship. I hated working and he was fine with me staying home. 8 yrars later which is now we finally bought our first house and probably live here forever. We are now pregnant with our first baby. I honestly didn't think someone would love me in my life and I would end up on the streets. (In the past I've been there) Had a very tough life but I'm thankful for how it's turned out and thankful someone truly loves me. Life is better than I imagined!

I sort of do. 
I was raised being taught that my main objective in life was to meet a good Christian man, marry him and pop out loads of babies. . . I didn't think I wanted that, so I joined the Army instead. I planned on completing a full 20 year career in the Army, and retire as a solider. But I served 6 years, met my husband, who was also military, and had our 3 babies. Being dual military with 3 kids is next to impossible. So I left my dream job to be a stay at home Mom. Honestly, I hate it. I love my kids, but this stay at home Mom thing is NOT for me. I have the highest respect for those who do it, but I can't handle the boredom and the feeling of not accomplishing anything. So I will be re-entering the civilian workforce next year when my youngest starts school. 
So, nothing is really as I planned. But I go with the flow, and live the life that's in front of me. It's not exactly how I wanted things to go, but it's not a bad life. Anything can be turned into a positive if it's looked at with the right attitude.
