What brand is your pump?
You are supposed to wash after every use every part, but the tubes.

It's probably the suction cup. A pump works by pushing and pulling air, so that's probably the cup that traps the air making the suction. The ones on my pump look like this. (Picture below) but without knowing what kind of pump you have it's hard to saw what it is. But you can wash them by hand or in a dishwasher. If its rubber you could try boiling it but it might change the shape.
