General IVF/infertility question

My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years, and we had been so focused on me because I have PCOS, factor 5 liden, a history of miscarriages, etc. One of my doctors finally had my husband get tested and the results came back today that he has no sperm whatsoever. This was confusing to my doctor, and myself, as I've had miscarriages in the past. Is this possible? Can the test be faulty? My doctor is sending us to an IVF specialist to get a second opinion on the test and go from here. Any advice or guidance, anything, would be so helpful right now. Thanks!
