Is this inappropriate?...Shameless fans will understand

So we're binge watching Shameless, we're on season 5. My husband tells me today that his assistant at work has said in the past (before we made it to season 5) that the female professor Lip ends up sleeping with is her 'spirit animal'. I think she's hitting on my husband with this comment...basically insinuating that she herself is smart, classy, and easy. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but upon hearing this spirit animal comment, and then seeing what this character is like, I immediately tell my husband, 'dude she's flirting with you.' Call me crazy, but I think it's super inappropriate saying to my husband that she relates to this character, almost likes it's subliminal
