Feelings for a Guy with a Past- Advice please sisters

I have been getting to know this guy and we really hit off. We both love God and he just seems too good to be true! I love everything about him.. BUT. I recently found out from a source that he used to be mentally ill years back in Austrialia. Do I carry on talking to him? Or ??? Any advice would be appreciated, bless you all 💕 EDIT: After his mother passed away he became sick, we are unsure of the name but his memory became slow. he now better.
