Tone-Policing

As I'm sure you've noticed, the minority users on this app do a lot to answer questions and give everyone a different perspective on important issues that we face. It's a unique opportunity we all have to have access to a resource like this. I think that we're all enthusiastic to do what we can to use this platform to help fix societal problems, but there's only so much prodding we can take.

Maybe it seems like just a bad choice of words to tell me that I'm transgendered or that I have transgenderism. Maybe you think it's "just your opinion" that gender confirmation surgery is cosmetic. Maybe you think it's your own business if you "don't agree" with transgender people. NONE OF THIS IS HARMLESS.

The ubiquity of lesser forms of bigotry is what empowers the people that you'd actually agree with me are bigots. I've been stuck in my own house for over a week now. The last day I went in to work, I was crossing the street and a man in a jeep started speeding up, intending to hit me. As I sprinted out of the street to avoid him, he screamed "he-she" at me out of the window of his car.

If you "disagree" with transgender people, thank you. You have helped to contribute to the climate empowering people who would seek to do a person harm because they can't immediately tell what is in their pants. If I get banned for refusing to contribute to my own oppression, fine...I just wanted to make sure first that it is known by as many as possible how wrong what's going on here truly is.
