Wedding planner?

How much would you feel comfortable paying a wedding planner? Also how much would you feel paying a novice wedding planner?

I don't know what the going rate is, but I know as a novice in my career, I'm charging my first few clients below the average to build my reputation. My next clients will pay closer to the industry average, so on and so forth until I build up my portfolio.

This will vary greatly depending on your location. I'm a photographer and in my home state (Maine) a typical photo session is around $350 give or take $50 or so. But I now live in San Diego and a standard portrait session is around $700 AT LEAST.

Depends on the services provided, what will you be there for? Dress fittings, catering tastings, floral selections, organizing the rehearsal dinner, blocking the hotel rooms for the wedding party... basically the works? If so I would put together packages which include a certain number of hours each (including phone and text consults) so nobody can abuse your time, and they can allot the services accordingly. If it's just day-of coordination and setup of the favors, overall making sure it's running smoothly, anywhere from $350-500.

I didn't use a planner but a coordinator. All she did was make the big day run. My mom and I did all the real planning. She was 300 to work the day of the wedding and 2 30 minutes pre day check ins to go over logistics. 
My photographers also helped out with logistics but they attended church with me where we got married so that is probably not normal.

I have no idea. I was thinking about hiring one, but not sure yet. I guess around $4,000? I'm just guessing lol. I have no idea how much they charge but I probably wouldn't pay anymore than that.
